Meaning of Kuuki Yome(空気読め)
“Kuuki yome” means “read the air”. It’s close the meaning of “read between the line”. It means “To understand situation and behave naturally, and you should fit this situation.”
We should always read the air because of Japanese collectivism. If you can’t read the air it’s difficult to live in Japan, maybe.
Example Conversation
A: What do you think about Yamada?
B: I find he is smart but he can’t read the air.
A: I agree, sometimes I want to say “Read the air!”.
A:山田ってどう?
B:頭いいけど空気読めないよね。
A:わかる、時々「空気読め」って言いたくなる。
Hi, I think your blog might be having browser compatibility issues.
When I look at your blog in Safari, it looks fine but when opening in Internet
Explorer, it has some overlapping. I just wanted to give you a quick heads up!
Other then that, very good blog!
Thank you for telling me.
Honestly speaking, this blog doesn’t support Internet Explorer…
But I know, I should support IE11 which is still alive.
So I’ll check on IE11, if you use old IE…I’m sorry please update it.
By the way, thank you for telling me, and enjoy my blog!!
Perfect piece of work you have done, this internet site is really cool with fantastic information.
