Meaning of “Danchi(だんち)”

“Danchi(だんち)” as a slang is an abstraction for “Danchigai(段違い)” which means that the level or quality of something is significantly different from another.
“Dan(段)” means step or Level, and “Chigai(違い)” means difference.
