Meaning of “Niki(ニキ)”, “Neki(ネキ)”, “Kaigai Niki(海外ニキ)”
“Niki(ニキ)” means bro and it’s an internet slang.
“Niki(ニキ)” is an abbreviation for “Aniki(兄貴：アニキ)” which means elder brother.
Even if you have no blood ties with the man, you can call the man “Aniki(兄貴)”, it means you feel “he is dependable (and also cool)”. But it sounds like Yakuza’s style just a bit.
Yakuza is Japanese mafia. In Yakuza family, they have a strong bond with each other like family, and they call elder member “Aniki(兄貴：アニキ)”.
So calling someone who has no blood ties “Aniki(兄貴：アニキ)” sounds like Yakuza’s style just a bit.
But you can use this Yakuza’s style, if you are not Yakuza.
On the other hand, “Niki(ニキ)” is an internet slang perfectly, nobody imagine Yakuza.
If someone call the man “Niki(ニキ)”, it means someone feel “The man is dependable and cool, and I respect you like my bro”
Most of time, we use it “someone’s name” + “Niki”.

Basically we call the woman who is dependable “Aneki(姉貴：アネキ)”, but if we feel she is dependable extremely, sometimes we call her “Aniki(兄貴：アニキ)” not “Aneki(姉貴：アネキ)”.

“Kaigai(海外)” menas Foreign.

このサイトが原因と断定できるわけでもないですが、こういうのを実際のコンテクストを無視して「日本のスラング」とだけ紹介してしまうと、空気読めない痛々しい外国人が出来上がっちゃうんじゃないかと…
なんというか、RedditでPogとかKEKWとか書いちゃう感じというか…。
こういうサイトがあるのは良いことだと思うんですが、実際に使っていいかどうかのTPOと、既に死後になっているかどうかぐらいは記載してもいいんじゃないかなと思います。
じゃないと結局恥をかくのはこういうのを真に受けて使ってしまう外国人の方なんで…
少なくとも、一般的なインターネットスラングとしては「ニキ」よりも「兄貴」「姉貴」の方がずっと使用頻度が高いように感じます。「ニキ」はたまたま日本のインターネット文化が海外に紹介される今の時期にほんの一部で流行ってるだけで、現実には一瞬現れては消えていく、いつもの流行語大賞レベルの言葉ではないかと思います。
日本人の側も、外国人が使ってるからって寒いネタに引き笑いで返し続けるのもいずれきつくなってくると思います。
